President of European Commission congratulates Ukrainian Armed Forces on military success
KYIV. Sept 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, congratulated the Armed Forces of Ukraine on their military success, saying that it raised the spirits not only of the Ukrainian people, but also of all friends of Ukraine.
Von der Leyen said at a press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv on Thursday that she also wants to congratulate Ukraine on its military success. She said she knows that there should be strengthening, but it is still impressive to see the bravery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and their success has lifted the spirits not only of the Ukrainian people, but also of all their friends.
At the same time, the President of the European Commission stressed the importance of the EU member states continuing to support Ukraine with military equipment.
She said that she recommends to all member countries, and she thinks that she shouldn’t even recommend it, because the same approach is shared – that it is absolutely vital and necessary to support Ukraine with the military equipment it needs to protect itself. And that Ukrainians have proved that they are able to do this if they are well equipped.
