Preparation of conscripts may take from 2-3 months or even more – AFU Ground Forces Command
KYIV. Dec 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The training of the mobilized is divided into individual and collective, and can take from two and three months or even more, Roman Horbach, head of the personnel department of the headquarters of the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) said.
"Citizens who have not previously completed military service are sent to training centers without fail. This is at least a month, and if there is a more difficult specialty, then we add at least two weeks, or even a month, or even 2.5 months. This is an individual preparation," he said at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine in Kyiv on Monday.
In addition, as Horbach emphasized, there is a collective preparation.
"That is, when a serviceman gets into a unit, and this unit is preparing to be recruited into the combat zone. This unit is also trained at training grounds and other areas of the terrain," he said.
The Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that in general such training (individual + collective) "may take from two and three months and even more."
Without fail, even those who already have some experience of service are involved in the performance of combat missions by the unit – they undergo combat coordination, training at the training grounds.
