Premises of hotels in Lviv, Kyiv owned by Russian company seized – PGO
KYIV. Aug 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) announced the seizure of the premises of two hotels in Lviv and Kyiv worth almost UAH 1 billion, the beneficial owners of the hotel chain are citizens of the Russian Federation.
"At the request of the Halytsky District Prosecutor’s Office of Lviv, the court seized the premises of two hotels – in the center of Lviv and Kyiv. The total area of the seized property is 30,000 square meters. The cost is almost UAH 1 billion. The hotel chain belongs to an enterprise whose beneficial owners are citizens of the Russian Federation," the PGO reported on Wednesday in its Telegram channel.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the company’s corporate rights were also seized for a total amount of more than UAH 100 million.
At present, as emphasized in the report, the issue of transferring the seized property to the management of the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) is being resolved.
"According to investigators, officials of the hotel management company forged official documents, thus obtaining a controlling stake in the hotel chain," the PGO said.
A source in law enforcement agencies told Interfax-Ukraine, it is about the Lybid hotel in Kyiv and the Dnister hotel in Lviv, which are part of the Premier Hotels and Resorts hotel chain. The press service of the network at the time of publication did not respond to the request of the agency.
