Power system deficit remains at 30% – Ukrenergo

KYIV. Nov 25 (Interfax-Ukraine) – As of Friday evening, November 25, a capacity deficit in the Ukrainian power system remains at the level of 30%, as it was at 11:00, NPC Ukrenergo reports.

"As of 19:00 on November 25, a significant deficit remains in the power system – 30% of the need," the company said in a statement on Friday evening.

The company noted that the phased renewal of the power system continues, repair teams are working around the clock and electricity is being supplied to household consumers.

"In order to keep the balance in the system under such conditions, the Ukrenergo dispatch center in the morning brought to each regional energy company the consumption volumes that it must comply with during the day," the system operator explained.

According to Ukrenergo, the amount of capacity available in the system is sufficient to most optimally and evenly alternate the restrictions of consumers in each region and in Kyiv.

At the same time, consumers were urged to use electricity as reasonably as possible, which would allow applying restrictions aimed at preventing accidents less, and also allow power engineers to focus on repairs of damaged facilities, on which the electricity supply of entire regions depends.
