Posts offices in Europe to issue postage stamps in 2023 with ‘Peace – highest value of mankind’ inscription
KYIV. May 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Postal administrations of European countries will issue postage stamps in 2023 where it will be written "Peace – the highest value of mankind" at the suggestion of Ukrposhta.
As reported on the website of the Ukrainian national postal operator on Monday, the decision was taken at an extraordinary meeting of directors of PostEurop.
The theme of the annual contest for the best postage stamp of Europe-2023 was changed at the suggestion of Ukrposhta from "Underwater Flora and Fauna" to "PEACE – the highest value of mankind," as a postage stamp is another way to draw the world’s attention to the topic of war in Ukraine.
By decision of PostEurop, the previously selected Europe stamp themes for 2023 and 2024 will be moved to 2024 and 2025, respectively.
European postal administrations are taking part in the competition.
"Colleagues from various post offices around the world are already expressing their support for Ukraine through postal miniatures. In particular, Estonia, Poland, Lithuania, Austria, Croatia have already issued stamps in support of Ukraine," Ukrposhta said.
