Ports of Greater Odesa send 10 ships with 361,200 tonnes of agricultural products over weekend
KYIV. Feb 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Last Saturday and Sunday, ten ships with 361,200 tonnes of agricultural products for Africa, Asia and Europe left the ports of Greater Odesa as part of the Grain Initiative and the Grain from Ukraine program, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine reported.
“In particular, the bulk carrier Valsamitis left the port of Chornomorsk with 25,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat for Kenya and 5,000 tonnes for Ethiopia. The bulk carrier Royal Star chartered by the UN World Food Programme (WFP) also left the port of Odesa. It will deliver 25,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat to Afghanistan,” the ministry said.
In total, according to it, since August 1, some 757 ships with 21.9 million tonnes of Ukrainian food left the ports of Greater Odesa for the countries of Asia, Europe and Africa.
