Popescu on fall of rocket debris: Another demonstration of how Russia's war against Ukraine affects Moldova's security
KYIV. Dec 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The fall of rocket fragments in the north of Moldova is another demonstration of how Russia’s war against Ukraine affects Moldova’s security, said Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu.
“Our border police found today fragments of a missile that came down in northern Moldova. An investigation is underway. Yet another demonstration of how Russian war on Ukraine affects Moldova’s security. We strongly condemn Russia’s renewed strikes on Ukraine today,” he said on Twitter.
As reported, on Monday, after another massive rocket attack by the Russian Federation on Ukraine, Moldovan border police officers found a fallen rocket near the town of Briceni.
Currently, the area where the missile was found is cordoned off by police and border guards. Specialized services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Explosives Service and the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of Moldova are expected on the spot.
