Poninka paper mill increases production volume by 6.5% in 2022
KYIV. Jan 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A major Ukrainian manufacturer of corrugated cardboard –Poninka Cardboard and Paper Mill-Ukraine LLC (Khmelnytsky region) produced products worth UAH 2.446 billion in 2022, which is 6.5% more than in 2021.
According to the statistics of the Ukrpapir association provided to Interfax-Ukraine, in quantity terms, the mill reduced production of containerboard (including corrugating paper) by 23.7%, to 69,200 tonnes, and production of corrugated boxes from it by 14.8%, to 70.8 million square meters.
At the same time, paper production increased by 20%, to 585 tonnes.
As reported with reference to data collected by the association from industry companies, last year, taking into account the fact that a number of enterprises in the industry were either destroyed or damaged or located in the occupied territory, production of paper and cardboard in Ukraine decreased by 44.2% compared to 2021, to 500,600 tonnes, and corrugated packaging by 41.1%, to 444.6 million square meters.
