Polish Interior Minister: meeting with Monastyrsky to be held soon, explosive 'gift from Ukraine' to be discussed
KYIV. Dec 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian Interior Minister Denys Monastyrsky will soon arrive in Poland to meet with his Polish counterpart in connection with the explosion of a "gift" to General Jarosław Szymczyk, said Polish Interior Minister Mariusz Kamiński.
"In connection with the situation around the Ukrainian gift to General Jarosław Szymczyk, Interior Minister Denys Monastyrsky expressed his readiness to come to Poland and meet with me. The meeting will take place in the near future. At the same time, suppressing speculation in the media, I exclude the resignation of the Chief of the Polish Police," Kamiński wrote on Twitter.
On December 15, the Polish Interior Ministry reported that a gift a Polish police officer received during a recent visit to Ukraine exploded at a police headquarters in Warsaw, injuring a commander and a civilian employee.
The Polish side asked the Ukrainian side for appropriate clarifications.
