Police opens criminal proceedings on shelling of Nevelske village

KYIV. Nov 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war) due to the shelling of the village of Nevelske by Russian-led forces, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

"It was established that at 01.30 the village of Nevelske came under fire from illegal armed groups. The shells hit the houses located on Molodizhna Street. As a result of the shelling, nine houses were damaged, three of which were completely destroyed […] An investigative-operational group of the Avdiyivka police worked at the scene, documenting the consequences of the night shelling," the message says.

Criminal proceedings have been opened under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war). The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of eight to twelve years.
