Podoliak: More toughness on Iran needed
KYIV. Nov 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Advisor to Head of the President’s Office Mykhailo Podoliak believes that in the case of Iran, it is necessary to introduce not only sanctions and embargoes, but to act more "toughly."
"We need to take a tougher approach to countries like Iran. Paying attention to what they are violating: absolutely specifically killing their own people in the streets who are protesting against an absolutely totalitarian regime. (…) They finance or supply weapons to Russia (…)," Podoliak said on the air of the national telethon on Saturday, November 5.
"It seems to me that not just sanctions or an embargo are needed (…) It seems to me that it would be possible to deliver specific strikes on the production of drones and ballistic missiles, etc. A state that finances terrorist groups and states cannot do this with impunity further," the adviser to the President’s Office head said.
He also said the transfer of drones and weapons by Iran to terrorist states will continue until "the civilized world begins to punish here and now."
