Pivdenny Mining increases concentrate output by 1.2% in Jan-Aug

KYIV. Sept 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Pivdenny (Southern) Mining and Processing Plant (Pivdenny Mining, Kryvy Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region) in January-August this year, according to operational data, increased the output of iron ore concentrate by 1.2% compared to the same period last year, to 8.67 million tonnes.

The enterprise produced 1.2 million tonnes of iron ore concentrate in August, the enterprise’s representative told Interfax-Ukraine.

As reported, in 2020, Pivdenny Mining increased the output of iron ore concentrate by 4.4% compared to 2019 – up to 12.8 million tonnes.

Pivdenny Mining and Processing Plant is one of the main producers of iron ore raw materials in Ukraine, concentrate and sinter. It is engaged in the extraction and enrichment of ferruginous quartzites to obtain iron ore concentrate.

The plant is controlled by the Metinvest Group and Lanebrook Ltd. (the majority shareholder of the Evraz Group), which at the end of 2007 acquired 50% of Pivdenny Mining shares from the Privat Group (Dnipro).
