Petition registered on presidential website to deprive MPs from Opposition Platform – For Life of mandates
KYIV. Nov 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Member of Parliament from the European Solidarity faction Oleksiy Honcharenko has initiated a petition on the president’s website to deprive of the mandates deputies elected to the Verkhovna Rada from the banned political party Opposition Platform – For Life.
"I am collecting votes for my petition on the president’s website so that the Verkhovna Rada finally expels the deputies of the Opposition Platform – For Life party! You know the rules: the petition is gaining 25,000 votes – the president is considering it," Honcharenko wrote on Telegram on Thursday.
He recalled that his draft resolution on the deprivation of the mandates of deputies from the Opposition Platform – For Life, registered in Parliament on August 24, has not yet been submitted to the plenary session.
"It’s just a nonsense and shameful thing: on the 9th month of the war, to keep deputies in the Rada openly promoting the ‘Russian world’, negotiating with Russia and calling Putin to Ukraine. All of them must bear responsibility and stop influencing the policy of our state. To leave them in the Rada in their places is to launch a time bomb again," Honcharenko said.
