Perm Health Ministry: 43 hurt in shooting incident at Perm State University
PERM. Sept 22 (Interfax) – According to the updated information, 43 people were hurt as a result of a recent shooting incident on the premises of the Perm State National Research University, Perm Health Minister Anastasia Kruten said at a territorial government meeting on Wednesday.
"As of this date, there are 43 injured, including 12 receiving treatment at three hospitals of the Perm city. There is only one patient in grave condition, the shooter. His condition is critical. A part of his shin was amputated last night. His condition is critical and unstable. All the other 11 hospital patients are in fair condition, same as the outpatients," Kruten said.
On the first days after the tragic episode, the Russian Health Ministry reported 24 casualties.
A law student opened fire in a building of the Perm State National Research University and killed six in the morning of September 20. The shooter was injured in the course of detention and hospitalized. A criminal case was opened on counts of murder of two persons or more. Access to the university premises was closed.
