Performance with verses to be held in Kyiv on anniversary of Babyn Yar tragedy
KYIV. Sept 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A musical and poetic performance "Babyn Yar. By Voices" will take place on the territory of the Babyn Yar National Historical and Memorial Reserve in Kyiv on the 80th anniversary of the tragedy of Babyn Yar, on September 30.
The event is organized by the Center for the Study of the History and Culture of East European Jewry of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
During the event, theater director Oleh Liptsyn, together with actors and musicians, will "revive" poems from the collection "Babyn Yar. By Voices" by Marianna Kiyanovska. The book, for which the poetess received the State Shevchenko Prize in 2020, includes 67 poems dedicated to the events in Babyn Yar.
