Part of liquefied gas not sold by Ukrnafta seized, transferred to ARMA – SBI

KYIV. Aug 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The court has seized part of the unsold liquefied gas by PJSC Ukrnafta and transferred it to the management of the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA), the State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) reported.

"The decision was made based on the materials of the criminal proceedings of the State Bureau of Investigations on the illegal sale of liquefied gas by PJSC Ukrnafta during April-May 2022," the SBI reported on its Telegram channel on Thursday.

According to the report, it was established that during martial law in April this year, Ukrnafta applied for an auction for the sale of liquefied gas.

"At a meeting of the auction committee, an exchange was agreed upon, proposed by PJSC Ukrnafta, which did not have a license to carry out professional activities in organized commodity markets. The results of the auction have signs of fabrication, since the winners bought liquefied gas at a price almost two times lower than the market price," the SBI aid.

Thus, the amount of damage caused to the enterprise, in which there is a significant state share, can be more than UAH 300 million.

Pretrial investigation of criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of authority or office that caused any grave consequences) continues.

Procedural guidance is exercised by the prosecutors of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
