Part of hospitals in occupied territory blacked out due to shelling of Zaporizhia NPP – Liashko
KYIV. Aug 25 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A part of hospitals in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine has been blacked out as a result of shelling attacks on Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), according to Health Minister of Ukraine Viktor Liashko.
"Due to enemy shelling of Zaporizhia NPP, a part of our temporarily occupied hospitals have been left without power supply and a possibility to operate in the normal mode. The most valuable thing – the lives of people in operating rooms, [patients] connected to lung ventilators and in intensive care units – is under the threat," he said on Facebook.
The minister specified that he meant the hospitals in the territory of Kherson region and a part of Zaporizhia region.
Liashko said also said that the ministry has supplied hospitals with 334 electric generators since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
