Parliament's budget committee approves increased spending on defense, support for economy – MP Honcharenko
KYIV. Aug 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Budget has agreed to amend the national budget of Ukraine by increasing spending on defense and support for the economy, member of the European Solidarity faction Oleksiy Honcharenko has said.
"The committee has considered bill No. 7644 that proposes amendments to the law of Ukraine on the national budget. In particular, the bill proposes to increase budget spending by UAH 270.181 million in the following spheres: national security and defense – by UAH 269,455 million (Defense Ministry – UAH 241.163 million, Interior Ministry – UAH 22.855 million, SBU – UAH 2.459 million, State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection – UAH 425 million, State Security Department – UAH 197.2 million, Foreign Intelligence Service – UAH 139.3 million); mobilization preparation of the national economy of Ukraine for the Economy Ministry of Ukraine by UAH 10.3 million," he said on Facebook.
According to Honcharenko, bill No. 7644 also provides for the replenishment of the reserve fund – by UAH 715.7 million for the Finance Ministry of Ukraine.
