PACE finally rejects Ukrainian candidate list for position of ECHR judge – MP Honcharenko
KYIV. Sept 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has finally rejected the Ukrainian list of candidates for the position of a judge of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), MP of the European Solidarity faction Oleksiy Honcharenko said.
"The main reason is the nomination of a deputy from the Servant of the People and a PACE member Oleksandr Merezhko among the candidates," he said in his Telegram channel.
According to Honcharenko, now the Ukrainian authorities need to hold a new competition.
