Over 42,000 people killed in earthquake in Turkey
ISTANBUL. Feb 21 (Interfax) – The death toll of the earthquake, which occurred in Turkey over two weeks ago, has increased 42,000 people, the Anadolu news agency said on Tuesday.
According to the news agency, 42,310 people were killed in the earthquake.
Another 6.4 magnitude earthquake occurred in Turkey on Monday. According to latest information, six people were killed and 294 injured by it.
The new quake hit the areas which were already heavily affected earlier in February. A 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit Turkey in the early hours of February 6 and caused substantial damage and loss of life in Turkey and neighboring Syria.
