Over 1,200 Ukrainian children complete health improvement program in Greece – Zelenska
KYIV. Sept 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – More than 1,200 Ukrainian children have taken part in a health improvement program in Greece, First Lady Olena Zelenska said following a series of video meetings with spouses of presidents and heads of government, participants in the second Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen.
"More than 1,200 of our children have gone through a recovery program in Greece. And soon American psychologists will go there to work with the mental health of new groups of young Ukrainians," Zelenska wrote on Telegram.
According to the presidential press service, during a conversation with the wife of the Prime Minister of Greece, Mareva Grabowski-Mitsotakis, she also paid attention to the issue of creating the necessary conditions for studying the subjects of the Ukrainian school curriculum in Greece.
"It is important for us that students wishing to continue their education in Ukrainian schools remotely can do this without violating Greek law. Therefore, the priority for us is the introduction of a flexible schedule and a simplified procedure for attending Greek schools," she said.
During a conversation with the first lady of Poland, Agata Kornhauser-Duda, the spouse of the President of Ukraine expressed her gratitude for organizing the treatment of Ukrainian children in medical institutions in Poland. As you know, at the initiative of Agatha Kornhauser-Duda, seriously ill patients were transported from a children’s hospital in Lviv to hospitals in Lodz, Torun and Krakow.
The second Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen took place in Kyiv on July 23 in offline and video format. The event was joined by 23 first ladies and almost 50 world-famous speakers. The summit was covered in more than 20 countries of the world. The event was dedicated to the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine. One of the main objectives of the Summit was to raise funds for type C ambulances. More than $6.4 million were raised. Some of these funds have already been used to purchase 82 ambulances.
