Over 1,000 Ukrainian flagship schools to receive financial aid from UNICEF – Ministry of Reintegration
KYIV. Sept 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the implementation of a joint project with the UN (UNICEF) for financial assistance of Ukrainian flagship institutions of general secondary education in the 2022-2023 academic year.
"The UNICEF program Learning Together is being extended to 1,284 pivotal schools throughout the country, where 450,000 children study, including IDP children. The establishments will receive funding in the equivalent of $3,000," the press service of the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories said.
It is noted that such a decision should help schools organize a full-fledged educational process, comfortably spend the winter and not interrupt education due to bad and cold weather.
In particular, the funds are intended for minor repairs, the purchase of heaters, blankets, generators, fuel, textbooks, as well as the arrangement of a wireless Internet (Wi-Fi) network.
