OSCE records sharp increase in ceasefire violations in Donbas over past weekend
KYIV. Aug 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) has recorded about 400 ceasefire violations in Donbas over the past weekend, the organization said on its website.
"In Donetsk region, between the evenings of 27 and 29 August, the SMM recorded 354 ceasefire violations […]. In Luhansk region, the Mission recorded 44 ceasefire violations," the mission said in its report.
Most of them were recorded near Donetsk Filtration Station.
In the previous reporting period, about 60 violations were recorded.
The SMM also reportedly found heavy weapons in violation of withdrawal lines, both in Kyiv-controlled and temporarily occupied areas.
Since the beginning of the agreement in the TCG on measures to strengthen the ceasefire on July 27, 2020, the OSCE SMM recorded 52,775 violations, including more than 15,000 explosions.
