Opposition activists protesting in their cars in Tbilisi, other Georgian cities

TBILISI. Nov 16 (Interfax) – Supporters of the opposition party United National Movement are currently holding protests in Tbilisi and other Georgian cities, riding in their cars, hanging state flags from the cabins, and continuously honking their horns.

The protesters told reporters they demand that former President Mikheil Saakashvili be moved from the prison hospital to a civilian clinic and that the authorities call early parliamentary elections.

More than a hundred cars have moved to the center of the Georgian capital in three columns. The organizers of the rally did not tell journalists the route of the columns of cars.

Hundreds of opposition activists, accompanied by the police, held a demonstration and rally outside the Georgian presidential residence the previous day. The protesters demanded that Saakashvili be hospitalized in a civilian hospital and that the government call early parliamentary elections.
