Only solution to problem of ZNPP is complete withdrawal of Russian military, technical personnel from facility – Kuleba
KYIV. Sept 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The only stable and safe solution to the problem of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) is the complete withdrawal of Russian military and technical personnel from the territory of the plant, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said.
"Of course, colleagues raised the issue of the Zaporizhia NPP. I am grateful to both of them for the consistent support of Ukraine in this matter. I emphasized [and this is our signal not so much to Lithuania and Ireland as to other partners] that, in Ukraine’s opinion, the only stable and safe solution to the problem of Zaporizhia NPP is the complete withdrawal of Russia’s military and technical personnel from there," Kuleba said at a press conference with the foreign ministers of Lithuania and Ireland in Odesa on Wednesday.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister stressed that any other proposals were half-measures that might look nice, but did not fundamentally solve the problem, and therefore should not be implemented.
"Ukraine will continue to work with the IAEA and also with all other partners in order to guarantee the safety of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, to return it under the full and reliable control of Ukraine," Kuleba assured.
