One child, one man killed, five more civilians wounded amid enemy shelling of Bakhmut on Tues – prosecutor's office

KYIV. Jan 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A 12-year-old boy and a man were killed as a result of Russian artillery shelling of a residential complex in Bakhmut on Tuesday, five more civilians were injured, the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) reports.

"According to the investigation, on January 31, 2023, the armed forces of the Russian Federation fired from barrel artillery at a residential complex in the town of Bakhmut. As a result of the shelling, a man and a 12-year-old boy were killed," the ministry said on the Telegram channel.

According to the prosecutor’s office, five citizens received injuries of varying severity, and qualified medical care is being provided to the victims.

The exact number of victims is being specified.

Also, as the message says, as a result of the shelling, the buildings of shops and pharmacies, other structures were damaged.

Under the procedural guidance of Bakhmut District Prosecutor’s Office, a pretrial investigation is carried out into violations of the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
