Occupiers use civilians in temporarily occupied territories to detect minefields – National Resistance Center
KYIV. Jan 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Russian occupation forces use the local civilians in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine to detect minefields near the Ukrainian defense positions, the National Resistance Center has said.
"Cases, when the Russians sent civilians to the Ukrainian positions across minefields, were registered in Zaporizhia direction. Local residents, who stayed in the temporarily occupied territories, came to our military positions and passed messages from the occupiers with the alleged proposal to take away the bodies of our killed soldiers. However, after that the occupiers refused talks," it said.
According to the Ukrainian military, the occupiers on purpose send the local civilians across the minefields in order to detect possible ways to cross the fields.
"They receive the information about routes while watching the civilians. Thus, we are talking about another international crime of the enemy," the Center said.
