Number of vessels entering Ukraine for agricultural products grows from 4 to 6, at least 10 more expected by Sept – Ministry of Infrastructure
KYIV. Aug 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Vessels Sara and Efe entered the port of Odesa to load 8,000 tonnes of corn and about 7,500 tonnes of vegetable oil, thus the total number of ships that entered Ukraine since the beginning of the war as part of the Black Sea Grain Initiative has reached six, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) reported on Facebook on Sunday evening.
"By the end of the month, we plan to attract at least 10 more ships to Ukrainian ports to load Ukrainian agricultural products," Deputy Infrastructure Minister Yuriy Vaskov is quoted as saying.
He also said that in the two weeks of the grain corridor operation, 16 ships have already left Ukrainian ports, which will deliver almost half a million Ukrainian agricultural products to nine countries of the world.
As reported, on July 22, 2022, in Istanbul, representatives of Ukraine, Turkey, Russia and UN Secretary-General António Guterres signed two documents on the initiative for the safe transportation of grain and food from the Ukrainian ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdenny.
