Number of Ukrainian children killed in war reaches 460, 919 injured – PGO
KYIV. Feb 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A total of 460 Ukrainian children had been killed and more than 919 had sustained various injuries in the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine as of the morning of February 4, 2023, according to the Telegram channel, citing official information from juvenile prosecutors.
"It became known that on January 31, a 12-year-old boy was killed in shelling in the city of Bakhmut, Donetsk region," the report says.
The largest number of the affected children since the beginning of the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation is in Donetsk region – 443, Kharkiv region – 270, Kyiv region – 123, Kherson region – 86, Zaporizhia region – 84, Mykolaiv region – 83, Chernihiv region – 68, Luhansk region – 66, and Dnipropetrovsk region – 63. Due to bombing and shelling by the armed forces of the Russian Federation 3,126 educational institutions had been damaged, including 337 of them completely destroyed.
The Prosecutor General’s Office said that these figures are not final: work is underway to corroborate them in places of warfare, and temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
As reported, as of February 1, the number of children killed in the armed aggression of the Russian Federation was 459, and 918 were injured.
