Number of structural divisions of Ukrainian banks down by 20% in 2022 – NBU
KYIV. Jan 25 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The number of structural divisions of Ukrainian banks in 2022 decreased by 20.2% or by 1,349 branches to 5,336.
According to data on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), over 2022, Oschadbank was forced to close 420 branches (reducing their number to 1,182), PrivatBank – 287 (to 1,210), Sense Bank – 58 (to 143) , Ukrgasbank – 51 (to 217), Pivdenny Bank – 39 (to 49), Raiffeisen Bank – 42 (to 350), A-Bank – 24 (215), FUIB – 22 (226), UkrSibbank – 18 (to 233), and Ukreximbank – 5 (to 48).
At the same time, in 2020, banks opened 74 branches, including Accordbank – 35 (increasing their number to 143), Ibox Bank – 29 (up to 69), Cominbank – 7 (up to 50), and Alliance Bank – 3 (up to 33).
According to the data of the National Bank, as of January 1, 2023, the first place in terms of the number of branches was taken by PrivatBank (1,210), the second by Oschadbank (1,182), the third by Raiffeisen Bank Aval (350), the fourth by UkrSibbank (233) and the fifth by FUIB (226).
With one open branch, as in the first half of the year, Credit Europe, Familny and BTA Bank operate, and without branches – ING Bank Ukraine, Citibank, Trust Capital Bank, Ukrainian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (UBRR), Creditwest Bank, Deutsche Bank DBU, SEB Corporate Bank, Alpari Bank, Avangard Bank and Portal Bank, according to the regulator.
