Number of preferential mortgage loans reaches 936 for UAH 1.2 bln – Ukrfinzhytlo
KYIV. March 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A total of 45,000 applications have already been submitted to participate in the program of affordable mortgage lending under 3% of the state-owned company Ukrfinzhytlo, 936 loans worth UAH 1.2 billion have been issued, CEO Yevhen Metsher said at the Digital Lending conference in Kyiv.
According to him, soon it is planned to expand the categories of the population that will be able to take part in the affordable mortgage loan program with a fixed rate of 7% per annum.
“We must launch mass mortgages for everyone: …these are all families that do not have their own housing today,” he said, adding that for all categories of the population, the base rate of mortgage lending when issuing a loan for 20 years with a 20% down payment (as for preferential categories) will be fixed at 7%.
Metsher also said that now Ukrfinzhytlo is studying options for attracting additional funding, including from foreign creditors in international markets.
He announced the adoption of the strategy, financial plan and investment plan of Ukrfinzhytlo next week.
“We will attract additional resources soon, and the mortgage will get a second wind,” Metsher said.
Also, according to him, two or four new partner banks can join the program, in addition to five, with which the state-owned company is already working, funding the issuance of mortgage loans under the program.
