Norway ready to send tanks to Ukraine following Western partners
KYIV. Jan 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Norwegian Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram on Wednesday announced Oslo’s intention to send German-made tanks to Ukraine, the Norwegian television and radio company NRK said.
"Norway will send German tanks to Ukraine as part of the decision of Western countries to supply weapons," NRK said.
The Defense Minister did not specify the number of tanks in question.
Earlier Wednesday, U.S. President Joe Biden announced a decision to send 31 M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine.
It also became known that the German authorities decided to transfer the first batch of 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. At the same time, the German authorities will give the allies permission to supply Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.
