No info about victims among Ukrainians due to earthquake in Turkey, but some of them lost homes – MFA
KYIV. Feb 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Several citizens of Ukraine lost their homes due to the earthquake in Turkey on Monday night, Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleh Nikolenko said.
"Our embassy tracked down six Ukrainians who did not get in touch after the earthquake. Their condition is satisfactory, there are no threats to life. Some of the citizens had their homes destroyed. They settled with Turkish relatives. The Consul keeps in touch with them," Nikolenko said on Facebook on Tuesday morning.
According to him, the total number of appeals about Ukrainian citizens in the disaster zone, with whom there is no connection, has increased to 27. "The Ukrainian embassy is cooperating with Turkish rescuers to establish their places of residence. There was no information about the presence of Ukrainians among the victims of the earthquake," Nikolenko said.
