Next sanctions packages may contain Western visa restrictions for Russian military, their family members – Yermak
KYIV. Feb 22 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Head of the President’s Office of Ukraine Andriy Yermak believes that in the next packages of Western sanctions, visa restrictions may be introduced for Russian servicemen who took part in the war with Ukraine and their family members.
“We are working to make sanctions painful and effective so that the next package includes really important sanctions,” he told reporters in Kyiv on Wednesday.
According to him, “visa sanctions could be powerful.” “So that the military, where there is evidence that he fought on the side of the occupiers, could not get a visa for himself and for family members,” he said.
According to Yermak, the Office intends to hold regular briefings with partners on the topic of sanctions. “It’s time to find new inspiration,” he said.
According to him, work continues on sanctions against banks, energy, Rosatom.
