NEURC intends to permit production of electricity at mobile power plants without licenses

KYIV. Feb 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission of Ukraine (NEURC) intends to exempt the activity of generating electricity at mobile (autonomous) power plants from licensing requirements for the period of martial law and six months after its abolition in Ukraine.

The decision will be secured by a resolution on amendments to the license conditions for the implementation of economic activities for production of electrical energy, the draft of which was approved at a meeting on Tuesday.

“This is the beginning of a regulatory procedure aimed at allowing mobile power plants to operate without licenses, so we invite everyone to discuss and submit proposals,” the National Commission explained.

According to the document, a mobile (autonomous) power plant is a self-propelled or non-self-propelled electrical installation or a group of electrical installations designed for backup (emergency) power generation, which is moved or can be moved by road, rail, sea or inland water transport.
