Net profit of Raiffeisen Bank increases by 19% in nine months

KYIV. Oct 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The net profit of Raiffeisen Bank (Kyiv) in January-September 2021 amounted to UAH 3.719 billion, which is 19% more than in the same period in 2020 (UAH 3.121 billion).

According to the report posted on the bank’s website, its net profit for the third quarter of 2021 increased by 31% compared to the corresponding period last year – up to UAH 1.385 billion.

The bank’s net interest income for the nine months increased by 7.8% – to UAH 5.93 billion, net commission income – by 3.7%, to UAH 1.906 billion. At the same time, the net loss from the modification of financial assets decreased by 4.2 times – to UAH 68.05 million from UAH 285.88 million last year.

The assets of the financial institution in January-September increased by 11.16% – to UAH 119.749 billion, in particular cash and cash equivalents – doubled, to UAH 29.88 billion, loans to customers – by 31%, to UAH 60.08 billion. At the same time, the debt of credit institutions fell 2.2 times – to UAH 11.56 billion.

The bank’s liabilities for the specified period increased by 11.5% – to UAH 105.25 billion, including debt to customers – by 15.6%, to UAH 102.05 billion. At the same time, the debt to credit institutions has dropped 4.2 times since the beginning of the year – to UAH 898 million.

Equity capital of Raiffeisen Bank for the nine months grew by 12.5% – up to UAH 14.5 billion, the charter capital remained at the level of UAH 6.15 billion.

Raiffeisen Bank was founded in 1992. Its largest shareholders are Raiffeisen Bank International with 68.28% of shares and the EBRD with 30% of shares.

According to the NBU, as of September 1, 2021, in terms of total assets (UAH 124.664 billion) Raiffeisen Bank ranked fourth among 72 banks operating in the country.
