NBU to soon propose vision on admission of Ukrainian banks to eurobonds of Ukraine
KYIV. Sept 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) is ready to soften its position regarding the possibility of Ukrainian banks investing in state foreign loan bonds (eurobonds) of Ukraine, Deputy Governor of the NBU Yuriy Heletiy has said.
"We will soon offer a vision of how to admit banks to the eurobond market," he said at the Ukrainian Financial Forum (UFF) organized by the ICU investment group in Kyiv on September 3.
According to the deputy governor of the NBU, this is requested by banks.
Asked about the possibility of admitting banks to the eurobond market of Ukrainian corporate issuers, Heletiy said: "Let’s start with government bonds, and then we’ll analyze others."
