NBU sells up to $20.5 mln on interbank FX market last week
KYIV. Aug 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) sold $20.5 million on the interbank foreign exchange market from August 25 to August 28, while a week earlier it bought $118 million on the interbank market.
According to the NBU, $20.5 million were sold as part of interventions at a single rate.
In general, since the beginning of 2021, the National Bank bought $1.381 billion in FX reserves, and sold $190 million.
In January, the net purchase amounted to $20 million, in February – $200 million, in March – $50.5 million, after which a net sale of $50 million was recorded in April. In May, the NBU did not enter the market with interventions, in June the balance of purchases was $583.3 million, and in July – $188 million.
