NBU net sales up to $401.5 mln last week
KYIV. Nov 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Net sales of dollars by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) last week rose to $401.5 million from $166.1 million a week earlier.
According to the information of the National Bank on its website, from November 21 to November 25, it purchased $7 million, which corresponds to the usual purchase volumes during the war, while it sold $408.5 million compared to $182.2 million a week earlier.
In the cash market, the hryvnia strengthened by about UAH 0.1 over the week, to about UAH 40.15/$1, and the spread between the buying and selling rates even narrowed slightly.
Since the beginning of November, the volume of interventions of the National Bank amounted to about $1.2 billion compared to $2.03 billion in October, $2.75 billion in September, $1.33 billion in August and $1.2 billion in July and remains much less than in June ($3.96 billion) and May ($3.4 billion).
In general, from the beginning of the year to November 25, inclusive, the NBU purchased $3.234 billion and EUR 111.0 million on the market, and sold $22.836 billion and EUR 1.789 billion.
In particular, since the beginning of the war, the purchase of foreign currency has reached $2.577 billion and EUR 111.0 million, and the sale – $20.065 billion and EUR 1.789 billion.
The international reserves of Ukraine as of November 1, 2022, according to the NBU, amounted to $25.244 billion (in equivalent), which is 5.5% more than at the beginning of October.
