NBU expects inflation of nearly 10% by late 2021
KYIV. Dec 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has worsened its forecast and expects inflation at the end of 2021 at about 10%, while in the October forecast the regulator expected inflation at 9.6% at the end of the year, Deputy Governor of the NBU Serhiy Nikolaychuk has said.
"Our forecast was 9.6%… Now we see that inflation is slowing down, but going slightly above the trajectory that we laid down in our forecast. I think that we will have about 10% at the end of the year if there will be no significant surprises," he said at a press briefing on Thursday.
He added that the trend of slowing inflation will continue next year.
