NBU confirms target of transferring UAH 13.6 bln of 2021 profit to state budget
KYIV. Aug 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) confirms the target of transferring UAH 13.6 billion of profit in 2021 to the state budget of Ukraine, despite a net loss in the amount of UAH 12.16 billion posted by the regulator in the first half of this year, the NBU press service has told Interfax-Ukraine.
"NBU obligations in terms of profit for distribution, which will be subject to transfer to the state budget, will be formed in late 2021 and made public in the spring of 2022. Therefore, in this matter, there is no need to focus on indicators of the interim consolidated financial statements of the National Bank over the first half of 2021. The benchmark is the NBU’s forecast expectations for the amount of part of the profit to be distributed for 2021 […] in the amount of UAH 13.6 billion," the report says.
The press service emphasized that the final amount of the part of the NBU’s profit to be transferred to the state budget in 2022 will depend on the actual macroeconomic indicators in 2021 and will be determined after confirmation by an external audit and approval by the NBU Council of the central bank’s financial reporting for 2021.
According to the norms of the Budget Code of Ukraine, the draft state budget for 2022 will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada by September 15, 2021.
