Naftogaz plans to increase gas production in 2023 by 1 bcm – CEO
KYIV. Feb 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy aims to increase its natural gas production by 1 billion cubic meters in 2023, the company said, citing CEO Oleksiy Chernyshov during his visit to one of the wells of JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia in Ivano-Frankivsk region.
"We set ourselves an ambitious goal. This year Naftogaz should increase its gas production by 1 billion cubic meters," Naftogaz said on its Telegram channel on Saturday.
As the head of the company said, 12 new gas wells should appear in the region this year.
"Twelve new wells should appear in the region. These are plans for the current year. We will continue developing the gas production infrastructure to provide gas to more than 12 million Ukrainian families receiving gas from Naftogaz," Chernyshov said.
According to him, the company’s primary objective is to create sufficient gas reserves for the successful passage of the next heating season of 2023-2024.
"We must achieve complete energy independence in the future," the CEO said.
