Naftogaz head hopes supervisory board will be formed in Jan 2023
KYIV. Dec 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Oleksiy Chernyshov, the head of NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy, is counting on the formation of the company’s supervisory board at the end of January 2023.
"Restoring confidence is my key task. This is due to the restart of the work of the supervisory board, which is planned to be created by the end of January," he said during an EBRD-organized discussion on the stabilization and reconstruction of Ukraine.
Chernyshov noted that the presence of the supervisory board will improve the transparency and manageability of the work of the Naftogaz board.
As reported, the previous members of the supervisory board of Naftogaz resigned in September 2021.
The Ministry of Economy announced a competition for the selection of four independent members of the Naftogaz supervisory board in October 2021, and the approval of the new composition was expected in February 2022. During the absence of the supervisory board, part of its functions is performed by the Cabinet of Ministers within the framework of shareholders’ meetings, approving the necessary decisions.
