Mykolaiv authorities discuss steps to restore region with Minister for Development Cooperation of Denmark
KYIV. Aug 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Kim at a meeting with Minister for Development Cooperation and Minister for Nordic Cooperation of Denmark Flemming Møller Mortensen discussed steps to restore and reconstruct the region.
"Today, I had a meeting with Minister for Development Cooperation of Denmark Flemming Møller Mortensen. Together with the Chairman of Mykolaiv Regional Council Hanna Zamazeeva and Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych, they showed their vision of possible cooperation. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko," Kim wrote on his Telegram channel on Friday evening.
"We considered specific steps to support Mykolaiv and the region by Denmark for sustainability, restoration and reconstruction. I showed the consequences of the destruction of residential buildings, social infrastructure and critical infrastructure. But our path is restoration. Therefore, the most important emphasis was placed on the restoration of our region. We decided on all directions and steps. We agreed that we, for our part, provide all the data and select specific projects," Kim also wrote.
Joint projects with Denmark should start in September.
"Big thanks to Denmark for the fact that it does not stay away from the problems of Mykolaiv region, we have developed truly friendly relations," Kim said.
