Morning shelling of Avdiyivka claims at least seven lives – head of Donetsk regional administration

KYIV. Oct 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – At least seven people were killed and eight were injured as a result of morning shelling of the city of Avdiyivka, Donetsk region, by Russian invaders on Wednesday morning, October 12, head of Donetsk regional military administration Pavlo Kyrylenko said.

"The Russians hit the central market, where there were a lot of people at the time," Kyrylenko wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.

In this regard, he once again called on the residents of the region to evacuate, stressing that now the main task for them is to survive.

"Such shelling has no military logic – only an unbridled desire to kill as many of our people as possible and intimidate others. This is the essence of the Russians. Unable to resist the Ukrainian army, they are ‘fighting’ unarmed civilians," Kyrylenko wrote.

Earlier, the head of the regional administration said that at night the invaders fired on different sectors of the front in Donetsk region from Maryinka to Soledar, while Avdiyivka suffered the most. He said then that among the civilians there were dead and wounded, but the exact number of victims at that time was still being established.
