More than 1,000 missiles, drones hit Ukrainian substations since Feb 24, some attacked by enemy up to 8 times – Ukrainian PM
KYIV. Nov 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – More than 1,000 missiles and drones have hit Ukrainian substations since the start of the full-scale war, some of them have been attacked by the enemy up to eight times, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said.
"More than 1,000 missiles and drones have hit our substations since the beginning of the full-scale war. All thermal, hydroelectric power plants and key substations that transmit energy from generation to consumers have been under fire. Some substations have been attacked by the enemy up to eight times," Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Friday.
The Prime Minister said that if the shelling continues, the number and duration of outages may increase.
"We are restoring everything we can. But subsequent waves entail new destruction. Accordingly, outages – both planned and emergency – may become more frequent and longer," the prime minister said.
