Moldova's ex-president Dodon released from house arrest
CHISINAU. Nov 18 (Interfax) – Moldova’s ex-president Igor Dodon was released from house arrest after submitting to travel restrictions.
The decision was made on Friday by the Supreme Court of Justice of Moldova, which granted the defense lawyers’ motion.
"Igor Dodon has been put under judicial control, and he was banned from leaving the country," Dodon’s lawyer Nicolae Posturusu said.
Dodon was detained on May 24. He was charged with four crimes: passive corruption, receiving of financing from a political party from a criminal organization, illegal enrichment, and high treason. He was put under house arrest on May 26.
Dodon does not admit his guilt. He says he has been framed and will be acquitted.
