Moldovan Foreign Ministry tells Russian ambassador it's unacceptable to interfere in Moldova's internal affairs
CHISINAU. April 22 (Interfax) – Russian Ambassador Oleg Vasnetsov was summoned to the Moldovan Foreign Ministry, where he was informed about the unacceptability of Russia’s interference in Moldova’s internal affairs.
"During the meeting, State Secretary Ruslan Bolbocean briefed the Russian diplomat on the position taken by the Republic of Moldova in connection with the recent remarks made by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry and reiterated the request to refrain from interfering in the democratic, legal and internal process in our country," Moldovan Foreign Ministry spokesperson Daniel Voda said on social media.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said earlier this week that Moldovan President Maia Sandu’s remarks about the St. George ribbon and the Moldovan authorities’ decision to ban this symbol in the country were unacceptable.
