Modular towns for war victims built in Ukraine's five regions – President's Office dpty head

KYIV. Aug 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Modular towns for internally displaced persons (IDPs), as well as those who lost their homes due to hostilities, have been built in Zaporizhia, Kyiv, Lviv, Chernivtsi and Chernihiv regions, Deputy Head of the President’s Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko said at a briefing on Tuesday.

He said 20 modular towns for 453 houses have already been built.

According to Tymoshenko, the evacuation of the population from Donetsk region continues: to date, some 6,158 people have been evacuated, including 1,037 children, including 5,266 people by rail, some 317 of them with limited mobility, persons with disabilities and 749 children.

Tymoshenko also said that repair work is ongoing in Zhytomyr region: some 302 private buildings, some 19 high-rise buildings, some 25 schools and kindergartens, ten administrative buildings, six objects of cultural and health facilities, respectively, and one housing and communal services facility have been restored.

In Sumy region in Konotop, Lebedynsk, Okhtyrka, Shostka districts, more than 370 critical infrastructure facilities, residential buildings and office buildings have already been restored.

In Kharkiv region, emergency recovery work is being carried out at 167 facilities, and 108 have already been completely repaired.

Tymoshenko said that as a result of hostilities, some 951 Chernihivoblenergo facilities were damaged. Reconstruction and major repairs have been carried out at 181 facilities, but another 770 are in need of restoration.

On the gas networks of the region, some 220 objects of Chernihivgas were damaged. At present, measures have been taken at all facilities to localize and eliminate emergencies, and 99% of consumers in the region are provided with gas, Tymoshenko said.
