Mobile operator lifecell completes 3G/4G network in Dnipro subway

KYIV. Feb 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – From February 22, the mobile operator lifecell launched 3G/4G and high-speed mobile Internet connection at all six Dnipro subway stations in the tunnels connecting them, while before that it worked at four stations and tunnels connecting them.

“Now 3G/4G communication works at all six subway stations in the city of Dnipro, as well as in the tunnels connecting the stations. It is an important improvement for the citizens because more than 12,000 people use the services of the Dnipro subway every day,” the mobile operator said in a statement.

The Dnipro subway said that currently lifecell is the only operator providing mobile communication services in the Dnipro subway.

According to the press release, the average speed of 4G mobile Internet in the city’s subway is 32.3 Mbps.

The company added that the need for such a solution lies in the high level of traffic consumption in the operator’s network in Dnipro – the average volume per data subscriber is 16.8 GB per month, while the average in Ukraine is 15 GB.

The share of active mobile Internet users among lifecell subscribers in Dnipro is 85%, and during the full-scale invasion, the active lifecell subscriber base in the city has not changed much.

The mobile operator lifecell is the third largest mobile operator in Ukraine. Turkcell (Turkey) is the owner of 100% shares of lifecell LLC.
